PetPal

In Development

PetPal is currently in development and not yet available on Google Play. Support opens fully at release — but feedback and questions are welcome now.

Getting started

PetPal will be installable from Google Play at release; a store button will appear on its page here the moment the listing is real. The app is offline-first: its core features work without a connection.

  • Per-pet profiles with photos and notes
  • Feeding, medication, grooming and custom task schedules
  • Real exact alarms, including full-screen critical alerts
  • Home-screen widgets for today's tasks

Permissions

PetPal asks only for what its features need, and works sensibly if you decline. To review or change grants: Android Settings → Apps → PetPal → Permissions.

  • Notifications: Delivers task reminders and alarm alerts.
  • Exact alarms: Medication and feeding alarms fire at the exact minute, not 'roughly then'.
  • Full-screen alerts: Critical alarms can wake the screen like a morning alarm clock.
  • Run at startup: Re-registers your alarms after the phone restarts.
  • Vibration: Haptic feedback for alarms and confirmations.

Common problems

The app is misbehaving or running slowly
  • Swipe the app away from Recents and reopen it.
  • Check Google Play for an update.
  • Clear the app's cache (Android Settings → Apps → PetPal → Storage → Clear cache) — this keeps your data.
Where is my data, and how do I delete it?

Your data stays on the device until you delete it. Delete pets or tasks in the app, or clear the app's storage in Android settings to remove everything. Full details are on the PetPal privacy page.

Does it really work offline?

Yes — the core of PetPal is built to work with no signal at all. Anything that does use the network is listed on the privacy page, and none of it is required for everyday use.

Battery and performance tips

PetPalavoids background work beyond what its features need. If Android's battery optimisation interferes with reminders or timers, exempt the app in Android Settings → Battery → Battery optimisation.

Accessibility

  • Alarm alerts use sound, vibration and full-screen visuals together
  • Large touch targets throughout task editing

Accessibility problems are treated as bugs — reports are very welcome.
