Spirit Board
In Development
Spirit Board is currently in development and not yet available on Google Play. Support opens fully at release — but feedback and questions are welcome now.
Getting started
Spirit Board will be installable from Google Play at release; a store button will appear on its page here the moment the listing is real. The app is offline-first: its core features work without a connection.

- Cinematic candlelit visuals and reactive sound
- Turbo Mode for faster spelling
Permissions
Spirit Board asks only for what its features need, and works sensibly if you decline. To review or change grants: Android Settings → Apps → Spirit Board → Permissions.
- Microphone: Lets you ask the board a question aloud instead of typing.
- Vibration: Haptic feedback as the planchette moves.
- Internet: Declared in the current development build; its final purpose will be confirmed and documented before any release.
Common problems
The app is misbehaving or running slowly
- Swipe the app away from Recents and reopen it.
- Check Google Play for an update.
- Clear the app's cache (Android Settings → Apps → Spirit Board → Storage → Clear cache) — this keeps your data.
Where is my data, and how do I delete it?
Settings stay on the device until you clear the app's data. Clear the app's storage in Android settings to remove all preferences. Full details are on the Spirit Board privacy page.
Does it really work offline?
Yes — the core of Spirit Board is built to work with no signal at all. Anything that does use the network is listed on the privacy page, and none of it is required for everyday use.
Battery and performance tips
Spirit Boardavoids background work beyond what its features need. If Android's battery optimisation interferes with reminders or timers, exempt the app in Android Settings → Battery → Battery optimisation.
Accessibility
- Full experience available with sound off
- Reduced-motion mode calms board effects
Accessibility problems are treated as bugs — reports are very welcome.
