Support
Dog Atlas
In Development
Dog Atlas is currently in development and not yet available on Google Play. Support opens fully at release — but feedback and questions are welcome now.
Getting started
Dog Atlas will be installable from Google Play at release; a store button will appear on its page here the moment the listing is real. The app is offline-first: its core features work without a connection.
- Browsable breed directory with rich detail pages
- Matcher quiz weighing space, schedule and experience
- Side-by-side breed comparison
- Saved shortlist for serious research
Permissions
Dog Atlas asks only for what its features need, and works sensibly if you decline. To review or change grants: Android Settings → Apps → Dog Atlas → Permissions.
- Internet: Declared in the current development build alongside the bundled offline catalogue; final network behaviour will be confirmed and documented before release.
- Notifications: Declared in the current development build for optional discovery reminders; final behaviour will be documented before release.
Common problems
The app is misbehaving or running slowly
- Swipe the app away from Recents and reopen it.
- Check Google Play for an update.
- Clear the app's cache (Android Settings → Apps → Dog Atlas → Storage → Clear cache) — this keeps your data.
Where is my data, and how do I delete it?
Favourites, notes and quiz results stay on the device until you delete them. Delete saved items in the app, or clear the app's storage in Android settings to remove everything. Full details are on the Dog Atlas privacy page.
Does it really work offline?
Yes — the core of Dog Atlas is built to work with no signal at all. Anything that does use the network is listed on the privacy page, and none of it is required for everyday use.
Battery and performance tips
Dog Atlasavoids background work beyond what its features need. If Android's battery optimisation interferes with reminders or timers, exempt the app in Android Settings → Battery → Battery optimisation.
Accessibility
- Breed traits shown as labelled scales, not colour alone
- Full TalkBack support through Compose semantics
Accessibility problems are treated as bugs — reports are very welcome.
